We're Still Here!!

Believe it or not, we really are still among the living. It has been so long since I have updated this it is actually embarressing, but we have just been extremely busy! It seems like we work, work, work and do more work, but I guess that keeps us too busy to get into trouble!! Hope everyone out there has been having a great fall so far. I have truly been enjoying the cooler weather as well as the slight change in color on the leaves on the trees! I'm excited about this coming Saturday as it is our church's annual hayride and it is so much fun. There will be a hayride as well as a bonfire for cooking hotdogs as well as marshmallows! Well, enough rambling for now, here are some pictures to enjoy!!

My baby is growing up!! (Sigh)

Ornery as ever!

Should I?
See, Grammy doesn't mind!!
Trying out the administrative assistant position ;o)
Guess I'll just let MaMaw keep her job!

Kate's Train Ride

Picture Perfect
Daddy & Katie goofing off!

Well it has been a long, long time since I've updated this! So sorry for the inconvienence!! Too much has happened to go back and review, so I'll just start from this past weekend! We took a train excursion on Saturday afternoon. It was about a 2 hour trip that turned out to be quite relaxing. So relaxing in fact that our Miss Kate ended up taking a nap! She was so excited when we pulled into the parking lot and she saw the train! Finally a ride on what she deemed to be James from Thomas the Train. Well, enough rambling here are some pictures for you to enjoy!
Special special thanks goes to Ryan (one superb brother) for taking such wonderful pictures of our Miss Katie!!!

Evie's Elegants

I would just like to put a plug in for my sweet sister-in-law Evie. She has just recently started her own business blog. She makes beautiful floral arrangements and you will have the opportunity to purchase one of your very own to showcase in your home, church or place of employment. Please visit her at evieselegants.blogspot.com

Happy Father's Day Jace!

I just wanted to wish the special man in my life a Very Happy Father's Day. He is such a wonderful Daddy to our little Katie-Luv. She loves those times after he's done with work when he just sits down and plays trains with her, takes her for wagon rides, or plays ball with her. If it would have been possible for Miss Kate to have her choice in a Daddy, she would have picked out the one that she has been blessed with! I'm so proud of Jason! Lots of people told him he would make a wonderful father, and he is! I love you Babe!

Commemorating Flag Day

Just some pictures of our house, flowers and Miss Kate for you to enjoy! Sure hope everyone has a great flag day!

Prayer Request

Please remember my grandmother - Grace Evans -in prayer. She was in the hospital for the last couple of days, but was released late this afternoon. They did a bone marrow test on her and are checking for lymphoma and leukemia. She gets the results from that back tomorrow and she also has a doctor's appointment with an oncologist as well. The doctor thought at first she had a large mass from her pelvis to her chest, but in reality it turned out to be an enlarged spleen. She is frail and weak and we are really concerned for her. Jason, Katie and I drove over here (Pittsburgh, PA) this evening to be with her and the rest of her family. We could all really use your prayers as we ride this roller coaster the next few days and probably weeks! Thanks to all!!

Williamsburg - Governer's Palace Gardens

The gardens at the Governor's Palace were beautifully manicured. It was so peaceful and lovely!

Colonial Williamsburg, VA - Governor's Palace

Here are some pictures from our first day when we went to Colonial Williamsburg. We had a blast, it was so much fun! Katie got to ride in a carriage drawn by 2 horses. Their names were "General" and "Brigadier!" Oh my, did she ever enjoy herself. She was not ready to get out when the ride was over! What a fun and educational day learning about some of the history this town holds!

From the 1930s until 1980 the reconstructed Palace was elegantly furnished with fine British and American antiques arranged in what is now recognized as the Colonial Revival style. Subsequent research confirmed that the rooms, though handsome, bore little resemble to their 18th-century counterparts. In 1981, the detailed 1770 estate inventory of Governor Botetourt's furnishings enabled curators to replicate the interior decor of the 18th-century with precision.

Further revisions were made to the furnishings in 2006, when Botetourt’s bachelor household gave way to a new arrangement reflecting the presence of Governor Dunmore, who resided at the Palace with his wife and six of their seven children. The new installation included Lady Dunmore’s large dressing room, sleeping space for the Dunmore children, and a highly accurate replication of the arms arrangement in the front hall.

These excerpts were taken from the Official Colonial Williamsburg website.
